Jason Davis, Bloomington, IL, is a leader in Engineering for electronics contract manufacturing. He was part of CAMtek, Inc., a WBE certified EMS Company in Bloomington, Illinois for over 20 years. In March of 2020, the company merged with Zentech and became the fourth facility of the Zentech EMS family. Staying on during the transition, Mr. Davis brought accomplished leadership experience in the Electronics Manufacturing Services (EMS) industry. Focused on high reliability electronics and quality production for Aerospace and Defense, he has a passion in Design for Manufacturability, New Product Introduction, Risk Assessment and Customer Relationships.
With a concentration in fluid and thermal dynamics, Mr. Davis earned his degree in Mechanical Engineering at Bradley University, making the Dean’s list twice. He attained certifications in printed circuit board assembly workmanship standards, IPC-610 and J-Standards, through Best Inc. Chicago, IL, and has been a member of the Executive Management Team at CAMtek for 12 years.
As a key employee and Executive Team member, Mr. Davis brought insight into areas of customer relations, sales, new product introduction, manufacturing capabilities, quality improvements, risk assessment and engineering. His overall technical knowledge of printed circuit board assembly was vital in CAMtek’s success and eventual acquisition.
Mr. Davis began his career as a Sales Engineer for CAMtek, Inc. His efforts in the Midwest grew multiple Military and Defense related prospects into multi-million dollar accounts that also generated repeat business.
Mr. Davis has an eye for perfection and a mind for innovation. In 2010, he was an active team member for the multi-million dollar renovation and expansion of CAMtek, Inc., steer heading the layout of the IT infrastructure and security system for the newly renovated facility. This piece of the renovation was a critical component of the overall strategic plan to align the Company for mission critical defense opportunities. His insight into the necessity for establishing a high-security environment for customer data (NIST) ensured entry into this market.
Once Mr. Davis moved into the Engineering Manager position at CAMtek, he supported multiple military and defense OEMs in their prototype stage with his experience in design of manufacturability. His efforts allowed customers to save time and money once their projects were finally released, eliminating the need for post order engineering support.
Prior to the merger, Mr. Davis was responsible for creating a new method to assess risk on new products being built. His methodology and self-developed software were critical in successfully achieving Aerospace certification (AS9100).
Mr. Davis is solution focused and has a strong belief all designs can be made “question free” prior to handing them off to a contract manufacturer.
